The trade happens when we encounter the love of God and follow him on this way of love. You get there by following Jesus’ way of loving and incorporating it into our lives.

1-The Way Of Love

The term, the Way, reflects the idea that following Jesus was a way of life, a path to be walked, and a journey of faith.

-They all cared for widows, orphans and the poor.

-They welcomed people into their homes and demonstrated hospitality.

-They practiced forgiveness and sought reconciliations, taking Jesus’ teachings very seriously.

-They remained faithful and joyful even in the face of brutal persecution, trusting in God’s promises.

-They maintained unity and love within the community.

It means something to call yourself a Christian. There is responsibility that comes with the title, Christian.

The Way of Love Is The Narrow Road That Leads To Life, Very Few People Find It.

2-Obligation or Opportunity

Each person in the early church decided to make a trade:

-Do I keep my money and possessions, or do I share my resources with those in Need?

-Do I hold my theological beliefs, or do I devote myself to Jesus’ teachings?

-Do I remain detached from others, or do I care for widows, orphans, and the poor?

-Do I continue in sinful living, or do I reject the things that trip me up?

-Do I value safety, or do I remain faithful in the face of persecution and criticism?

3-Making The Trade

-Trade falsehoods for speaking truthfully

-Trade anger for reconciliation

-Trade the sin of stealing for the virtue of sharing

-Trade unwholesome talk for words of encouragement

-Trade bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, and slander for kindness, compassion, and forgiveness

-Trade giving people what they deserve to fiving them the same love and forgiveness God has given you.
